19 Hours of Rapelje
Aug 07 2013 ·11They say you can do anything for a minute. Or five minutes. I’ve even heard it being modified to fifteen minutes. But one thing I never can recall this expression being extended to, “You can do anything for 19 hours.” Somehow, that phrase doesn’t seem quite as encouraging.
19 hours is all the time that Mother Nature granted us in mid-June to race the 24 hours of Rapelje mountain bike race.Team Rockford had a great showing with two 5-person teams – one all male and one mixed team. All riders from both teams finished the race as better, more experienced riders with a few war stories to swap when all other topics have been exhausted on our many training rides together…
Annalisa is…TULSA TOUGH!
Jun 11 2013 ·1Here is a recap of Annalisa’s Tulsa Tough Race – Enjoy!
Wow, what a weekend at Tulsa Tough! When you have riders like Alison Powers and Theresa Cliff-Ryan amongst a field of 70+ women, its safe to say you’re racing with the big girls. As this is my first season racing as a Cat 2, I had my work cut out for me in this P12 women’s field, but I was looking forward to the challenge. Tulsa Tough is a race that every female racer needs to go to regardless of category. They love the women there and it shows! It was for sure, a special weekend for the ladies.

Look outside, and there is a fresh layer of snow on the ground with more falling from the dark sky. This was a huge motivation killer! Several texts were sent around to teammates to see if anyone was still going – was it canceled, are the roads dry out at the caverns?… Then, an email from El Jefe – the race was on. Jeff Wyatt, Ryan Hamilton, John Barton, Justin Raynes, Jared Nelson, Anna Dingman, Ivy Peterson and Myself were all in….
